Nwt Case

Nwt Case

Well the last financial year was "Great" as far as I was Concerned. If you had been following my "MY PORTFOLIO" then you would have noticed that I won some and lost some. Which is par for the course?

With Atlas Pearls (ATP) I made a nice profit of 23%.They have also voluntary delisted from the NASDAQ capital market commencing to take effect in 10 days time. So all future share dealing will be with the ASX only. (I have also increased my holdings in these today.) The dividend is currently sitting on 8.3% fully franked which makes for a hefty return.

Oxiana(OXR) also performed well as the profit was also 23.5% profit

Imperial (IMP) Which I purchased at .008 cents are now sitting on .017 But will be hanging on to those for a bit longer as they are successfully finding gas/oil in the USA.

David Jones (DJN) came in at a nice 19% profit.

As for the rest BQT, NWT, QTK,VPE they just plodded along. If you go by company announcements they All seem to be "doing things.” So I will keep them a little longer just in case.

I did think of selling a few of them, but because of some disastrous losses that I had when I first started trading a few years ago, I didn't worry as some of my profits this year and the dividends and franking credits have helped to bring my losses back to around $1500 which will offset this yearÂ’s profits. (I am being optimistic here.)

Now as to what this year will bring?

With the cold snap we have been experiencing here lately. With temperatures of 2 degrees Celsius, plus a wind chill factor of -4 degrees it was brass monkey weather. And I have found that crystal balls do not like chilly conditions and are prone not to function at optimum performance.

Seriously though I do think it will be a slightly tougher year to make a profit than last year.

Commodity prices will go up and down, but I can't see demand slackening off as yet. As China's needs drop off I think the slack will be taken up by India and later on followed by Brazil whose economy is just now started to come on .Don't leave Russia out of this equation either. Their time is coming soon.

Uranium will continue to be "flavor of the Month" for a while yet.

Gold will continue upwards in fits and starts during the coming year, with some new highs.

Silver I see as the “Sleeping Giant"

Oil which is still being currently manipulated for whatever reason which sounds plausible at the time will continue to go upwards and downwards like a yo-yo. I doubt if the price will ever fall back to real low prices of $40 per barrel.

The main thing is to do your research before you buy. DonÂ’t get caught up in all the "Emotion and Hype" that you will find in the market.

And above all continue to "LEARN' about share trading and yourself.

Please remember that this is not "Financial Advice" as I am not qualified to give any. These are just My opinions of what might happen in the future.

One thing for sure it will definitely be interesting!
